One Hour To Go...

Only an hour left till the first trades in 2007 and already there's a lot going on. HD's CEO has left (hoorah), Goldman Sachs has downgraded quite a few technology stocks and RR Donnelley said it would buy book printer Von Hoffmann. On the sad part of the morning, Zack's simulator is down (again, for the 2nd time in a few weeks) which is bumming me out. I hope they get it fixed so I can finalize my trade ideas for the day.

New Idea of the morning: AAPL. With all the technology downgrades at GS this morning, AAPL, HPQ and IBM were notably left off the list. With MacWorld coming up next week and the sales from the holidays, AAPL should get a nice boost. In addition (though this is part of another story I'm working on) AAPL should benefit from the upcoming release of Adobe's Creative Suite 3, the first time Photoshop (et al.) will run on Intel Macs natively. I'm going to do some research as the stock looks like a good momentum play for at least the next 2-3 weeks. I'll start off with a relatively small position and build this week.
